Offering the best vitamin and mineral sources that land and sea have to offer! |
In this booklet, I will introduce you to the most
powerful anti-aging nutrient that I've ever experienced and some synergistic
nutrients that will increase its effectiveness. This potent, healing
remedy has completely turned around disabilities that were considered
irreversible. I've seen individuals, who had become disenchanted with life
because of their helplessness, start to thrive again. I've seen old,
stiff, arthritic joints become loose, chronic pain disappear, and pained facial
expressions turn to smiles.
The road to health, however, is much more than taking a certain pill or performing a particular exercise. And I would like to take just a moment of your time to plant some other seeds. If they make sense, water and nurture them; if they don't, throw them away. When it comes to your health, ultimately you are the one that makes the decisions and also the one who must take responsibility for the path that you have chosen.
Many of you have been searching for true health for much of your lives. If you haven't found it yet, you may have been looking for it in the wrong places. Since most of this booklet will be focused primarily on only one aspect of health - the physical - I thought it appropriate to use the introduction to address three other parts of our being that also need our attention; they include the mental, emotional and spiritual. True health comes from living a life in which all four of these aspects of our lives are dynamically balanced.
To promote life, there are some basic laws of nature that need to be observed. For instance, without air to breathe, the body expires in about four minutes; without water, you might last four or five days; and a month or so without food to eat would probably do most of us in. I'm going to share a few other basic laws that I've observed on my journey to health that affect not so much quantity of life, but the quality. And when we talk about anti-aging products, this is what we are referring to. It's true that you can't stop the process called primary aging. It's inherent in our design that not one of us is going to live forever. But what if you could slow down or reverse the aging process called secondary aging. By observing these laws, the quality of our lives increase and, in most of us, the desire for a longer life also increases. How you accomplish them is up to you, but here are a few seeds for thought.
Create More Joy in Your Life!
I started with this one because it's the most difficult for me, and I need to remind myself almost constantly to slow down and smell the roses! My wife has been a great teacher for me in trying to incorporate this one into my life. All our married life, she has tried to dig out of me what would bring happiness into my life and then create it for me. And I do mean she had to dig it out of me; it hasn't been easy for her, or for me. As I've learned the importance of joy, I'm starting to take some responsibility for creating all myself - but I'm still working on it! For some reason I always felt that if I was having fun, time was being wasted. Boy, was I wrong! By creating downtime - time to create memories with my family - or fun time, I'm actually able to focus more when I'm working. I can accomplish more in a shorter period of time.
Create some space in your busy schedule for something that will bring happiness into your life. It might be a walk on the beach; going to an afternoon matinee; putting fresh flowers in your work space; quietly soaking in your bathtub at night; or being with your best friend. Whatever brings you joy in your life, do it! You will find it time well spent. And for those of you like myself, you will find that the world will function just fine without you for a little while each day.
Spend Some Time Each Day In Your Spiritual Practice!
Spend 30 minutes of each day in reflection. I'm not promoting any doctrine, but to obtain optimal health we need to recognize that an intelligence much greater that ours is present. Whether you call it God, as I do, Source, Father or Mother, whether you see God inside of us or outside of us is not important. What's important is that you acknowledge this power and that your body uses this intelligence every moment of everyday throughout your life. This intelligence permeates every living cell, tissue, organ and system. It functions without any conscious thought of your own, and it knows what it's doing!
I suggest here that we need to access this intelligence and start using it as part of the healing process. Whatever form of communication you like to use is up to you. Reading spiritually uplifting books, praying, meditating, or chanting and singing are some great ways of taking us away from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives and getting us closer to the creator. This closeness cannot only give us comfort, but also insight into the causes of our illnesses and how to stay on the path to healing.
Spend Some Time Learning About the Body, Its Needs, and How It Works!
After all, you're only given one body, and it might be nice to know more about it. I'll be going into the physical aspects of healing more in depth later in this booklet. Just keep in mind that this intelligence within the body wants to correct any mistakes that it encounters, but it's limited by what it has on hand to work with. And most of the time, it needs no interference! Provide it with the proper building materials (clean air, water, nutritious food and supplements, and exercise) and it will heal. there are times when the body needs crises intervention, but it's time to stop treating every symptom as it it's a medical crisis and start trusting more in your own body's healing processes. Work with your body, not against it!
Start Expanding Your Mental Capabilities!
If you don't use a particular muscle for about two weeks, it starts to shrink in size and strength. This phenomenon is called disuse atrophy. In the vernacular of the day, it is expressed as "If you don't use it , you lose it! The brain is no different. The experts say that we only use 10 percent of our total mental capabilities, so it looks to me as if we're all mentally handicapped to some degree, and we don't have much to waste!
The brain participates in the healing process to the degree that we use it. First, as suggested above, we need to educate ourselves concerning our bodies and where health comes from. Studies indicate that after learning how the immune system works, patients are able to visualize perfectly functioning white blood cells gobbling up the bad guys and ridding themselves of various forms of cancer. Having these patients understand how their immune systems function was critical for their success rates. Second, there are many studies that have concluded that our thoughts are just as important in the healing process as anything else we might be doing. In other words, our attitudes about life and our relationship to it; do we see the glass half full or half empty? What are our feelings toward our bodies or, for that matter, our illnesses. Do we appreciate our bodies? Perhaps we can learn to see our illnesses as teachers and not something to attack!
Finally, we need to start using what we have learned, or walk your talk! It can be overwhelming if you try to do it all at once, so please make these changes a little at a time. Writing them down as goals, with specific dates to start, will make them more real, and you'll be more likely to do them. I appreciate your efforts; for I believe that as you and I heal, we can be of service to the healing of others and the planet.
