Health Foods

raw food

raw vegetablesRAW food contains enzymes which are needed by the body for digestion and other functions. Although some digestive enzymes are found in the body, a diet consisting of only COOKED or microwaved foods will quickly deplete them. On the other hand, RAW foods can be difficult for some people to digest, and may pass through the body without being broken down completely. A mixture of RAW and COOKED foods is generally best. COOKED vegetables should be lightly steamed, never overcooked! Fruit and vegetable juices also contain beneficial enzymes, however, these enzymes can be obtained without the overabundance of harmful sugar by eating RAW fruits and vegetables. Go for fresh!

Fiber is important for good health. It is something you should get naturally from the foods you eat. Fruits and vegetables are natural, fiber-rich foods. However, they lose some of their fiber when they are cooked. Be sure that you are getting enough fiber by eating high fiber fruits and vegetables that are natural, raw and fresh!

eat well to be well

Remember when your mother told you to eat your fruits and vegetables? Of course she was right, but now we know WHY she was right! There is a preponderance of evidence that a diet rich in fruits and vegetables assists significantly in slowing the aging process and in protecting cells from oxidative damage. Research has prompted organizations like The American Cancer Society, The American Heart Association and The U.S. Department of Agriculture, to encourage people to eat at least five servings of fruits and vegetables every day. Unfortunately, less than 10% of the population meets this daily recommendation. As a result, scientists believe there is a clinical relationship between these deficiencies and the rapid growth of heart disease, cancer, diabetes and the other health challenges we face.

"BLENDERS ARE A GREAT WAY TO THICKEN SEVEN ESSENTIALS TO MILKSHAKE CONSISTENCY, BUT SEVEN ESSENTIALS SHAKERS ARE CONVENIENT , FAST AND PORTABLE. I LIKE TO MIX 2 SCOOPS OF SEVEN ESSENTIALS WITH A TRAY OF ICE CUBES AND A CUP OF LIQUID. THE EXTRA ENERGY KEEPS  ME GOING FROM MORNING TO NIGHT!"
~Dr. Joe Hymer, M.D. & Janice Hymer

Dr. Joe Hymer"The more research I have done the more I realize that most diseases are the result of a deficiency of nutrition... the greatest thing you can do is increase your commitment to balanced nutrition. Dr. Koop, former Surgeon General, stated that of the 2.4 million deaths in the US each year, 75% of them are the result of nutritional related factors. We need to take charge of our lives before its too late. It is vital for us to increase our commitment to nutrition. A variety of nutrient dense foods is the best way to ensure that we provide our bodies with the nutrition it needs." ~Dr. Hymer

"Love is a FRUIT IN SEASON at ALL TIMES and within the reach of EVERY hand. ANYONE may gather it; no limit is set. EVERYONE can reach this love through meditation, prayer, sacrifice and an intense inner LIFE." ~Mother Teresa

Fat-Free ~ Sodium-Free ~ Cholesterol-Free!

Cucumbers are full of healthy benefits for the body and are very low in calories.

They're the best-known natural diuretic, secreting and promoting the flow of urine. The potassium content promotes flexibility in muscles and regulates blood pressure.  They contain molybdenum, a mineral that helps bring female hormones into balance.  They help with diseases such as kidney, urinary, bladder, liver and pancreatic disease.  The magnesium content relaxes nerves and muscles keeping blood circulating smoothly. The manganese promotes better nutrient absorption - especially with thiamine, ascorbic acid and choline. The thin cucumber skin is rich in dietary fiber, which regulates cholesterol levels and supports bowel regularity.  cucumbersThey contain silica, a mineral that helps heal wounds, build bones and connective tissues and prevents early aging.  They contain vitamin A, an essential nutrient that keeps the eyesight keen, skin healthy, and the immune system strong. They contain folate necessary for production and maintenance of new cells, and preventing DNA changes that lead to cancer. The combination of ascorbic acid & caffeic acid contributes to soothing properties that help reduce swelling and skin irritations.

IS YOUR DIET ROUGH ENOUGH? One nutritional bonus of summer is the abundant supply of fresh fruit and vegetables, which can help increase our dietary fiber intake. Yet so many people fail to eat the recommended amount. Low carbohydrate dieting fads have further added to the fiber confusion.

Fiber is the part of a plant that resists digestion and absorption. It helps prevent and treat constipation, a painful bowel condition from a lack of fiber and fluids. A well functioning bowel reduces the risk for developing hemorrhoids, diverticular disease and irritable bowel syndrome. People see fiber as roughage to help clean out the digestive system, but fiber does much more to assist our health!

Some forms of fiber actually lower blood cholesterol levels. Also, fiber assists in blood glucose management, especially for people with diabetes. It slows the speed that carbohydrates are absorbed, lowering the glycemic index of a food. For example, wholegrain bread is lower than white bread. Adding oats to baking is a great way to boost fiber and also benefit blood glucose and cholesterol levels. Additionally, high fiber foods actually cause us to chew more thoroughly, helping us to eat fewer calories.

LOW FIBER DIETS

CAN INCREASE THE RISK OF COLON CANCER BECAUSE CARCINOGENS ARE MORE CONCENTRATED WHEN THERE IS A SMALLER MASS OF FOOD TO DILUTE THEM. THIS IS ALSO TRUE  OF GALLBLADDER REMOVAL. THE SLOWER TRANSIT TIME OF FOOD THROUGH THE COLON GIVES CARCINOGENS AND TOXINS MORE TIME TO CONTACT THE ENTIRE COLON WALL, AND ALSO INCREASES THE POSSIBILITY OF ALLERGIC REACTIONS.

GETTING ADEQUATE DIETARY FIBER DAILY CAN BE A CHALLENGE. ADDING A CRUNCHY COOL CUCUMBER TO YOUR DIET IS AN ESPECIALLY GOOD WAY TO INCREASE FIBER INTAKE BECAUSE CUCUMBERS COME NATURALLY PRE-PACKED WITH THE EXTRA FLUID NEEDED WHEN CONSUMING MORE FIBER. UNDER THE THIN CRUNCHY SKIN, THE PALE GREEN FLESH CONTAINS ABOUT 95% WATER. ONE CUP OF DICED CUCUMBER SUPPLIES ABOUT 90ML OF PURE WATER.

BENEFITS FROM PLANT FIBER:

• HELPS PREVENT DISEASE

• LESS RISK OF CONSTIPATION

• FEWER HORMONAL IMBALANCES

• BUILDS A STRONGER IMMUNE SYSTEM

• SLOWS RATE OF GLUCOSE ABSORPTION

• FEWER HEMORRHOIDS& VARICOSE VEINS

• FEWER ABNORMAL PHYSIOLOGICAL CRAVINGS

TAKE IT SLOW! If you go abruptly from a sedentary lifestyle to marathon training, your body will hurt and complain. Similarly, eating more fiber without a transition period is asking your digestive system to work harder than it is used to, and it will likely complain. Abdominal cramps and gas can be reduced by gradually adding more fiber to the diet. If too much fiber or the wrong kind of fiber is added, it can cause intestinal blockage and cause you discomfort. This is especially true of the elderly, the ill or the constipated, or if the fiber is taken without enough water.

ANOTHER BENEFIT OF SEVEN ESSENTIALS

Abundance of Nutrition

We eat processed and cooked foods that are stripped of their most beneficial nutrients. It is nutrient deficiencies that create poor health. One solution is to eat more raw nutrients, providing useable building blocks for our cells to stay healthy. Seven Essentials contains many types of food in a highly concentrated, nutrient dense, assimilable raw food format. Our cells love it and the result is health! The main component of Seven Essentials is RiSoTriene®, a unique, soluble, stabilized rice bran that by itself contains hundreds of natural nutrients. RiSoTriene® has not been cooked. It is virtually instantly assimilated and so its nutrients feed our body's cells quickly. Along with RiSoTriene®, Seven Essentials contains six other types of raw, nutrient dense foods that provide our cells with thousands of micronutrients in a "cell ready" food that the body can readily accept and utilize. Consequently, Seven Essentials provides the body with an abundance of nutrition that positively impacts your health.
