At present, the government recommends the inhaled flu vaccine for healthy people aged 5-49. But, studies have shown that this form of flu vaccine may be safe and work well in children as young as 2 years of age. It is still recommended that kids with a history of asthma should still take the shot.
The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices advises health officials and are usually accepted by U.S. health officials.
The Committee is also recommending that the government pays for the vaccine in the younger age group.
