Toxins in the U.S. Food Supply
Many pesticides and insecticides have been banned in the United States, but are used in other countries. These include DDT, dieldrin, chlordane, and several others. These are often found in foods that are commonly imported into the U.S. Organic foods have also been found to contain pesticides. It is estimated that about 60% of organic vegetables contain small amounts of pesticides, but their levels are lower. These pesticides have been banned in the United States due to links with some forms of cancer. |
